I’m sure I’ve forgotten something…

Today I’ve been running through everything I need to take with me to Kyoto. After realising that I had forgotten the power adaptors, voltage convertor and new bag for the laptop among other things (yes, pretty much all stuff for the laptop) I set out to the shops hit Google looking for the best prices. Three hours later and I’m done, I think.

There’s this awkward feeling I get whenever I do any shopping; a little voice that says ‘You’ve forgotten something, haven’t you!’. My passport is valid, we have the tickets and I know I need a case to transport my iaito. But whatever it is I’m missing is probably important and the rapidly approaching departure date (23rd of April) is slightly worrying. I just hope that next Saturday isn’t spent rushing around the shops searching frantically for that one missing item, also that it isn’t expensive.

    OK, I have compiled a little check list that maybe what you are trying to remember.

    * A New White Iai gi with mons on
    * A WASHED hakama
    * Book of Japanese pick-up lines
    * Good pair of running shoes to go with the book
    * Knee pads
    * Oh, I’ve got… to make sure you’ve got everything as and when you need it… Batmans Utility belt.
    * Ties
    * Socks and underwear
    * DNBK badge on blazer
    * Grey Pants
    * Camera
    * Phone

    As long as you’ve got Money, your equipment and your mates, you shouldn’t really need anything else… This is going to be the trip of a life time.

    Funny, but I still can’t quite put my finger on it. As I said, it’s something important.

    As for friends, I’ll consider you such if I don’t end up having my yukata nicked while I’m in the bath: I don’t fancy streaking.
