Finding a theme

I have more or less one week to go now and still no theme/template for this site. After toying with the idea of bodging something together and promptly deciding against it, I now have two options: use a template designed and offered for download by someone else or leave the default template in place.

I can accept that the former is the most desirable, at least in terms of asthetics, I have already seen a couple of themes that I would really like to use here and here, but there is always the chance that having searched for that ‘perfect’ template I may never get around to building my own. If I leave the default template in place, as much as it will drive me to build something I like when I have time, it somehow feels like I’m not taking it seriously enough.

In addition to this, and weighing somewhat heavily against the option to use someone else’s themes, is that I wanted this to be all my own work. If it feels like that, I’ll be more inclined to stick at it. At the end of the day though it’s not a question of technical ability (it IS a question of artistic ability though), motivation or desire, it’s a question of time!
